Our hearts are full of sadness. David was such a delightful & happy young man. We enjoyed him so very much and treasure the memories we have of him, especially when he played on our church basketball team with our son, Tim Nevsimal. He will truly be missed by so many lives that he touched. May JESUS hold you close & fill you with HIS PEACE. God truly is our REFUGE & strength..Psalm 46.1 May HE bring you comfort. With love and prayers, The Nevsimal Family: Erv, Mary, Tim & Corrie(Hoffman) & family

Dave was a caring person who was very much liked by his students and fellow teachers. I know this because he taught with me last year as a co teacher in my civics class. He worked hard to give his students the best opportunity to be successful.
He also cared deeply for Cali, who I had the joy to meet several times when he brought her to school. Each day I would ask him how Cali was doing and it automatically brought a smile to his face and he would say, "she is great", then he would proceed to tell me about the fun activities they did that weekend or the night before when he was with her.
I will miss him, especially his smile and the conversations that we shared.

I have many memories from my childhood when The Starky’s visited northwest Ohio for family occasions. David and Steven were always a joy to have around to me! David was always a smart kid and always had me laughing! As i think of the Many times we spent together as kids one of my most cherished times with him was a year ago when i was able to meet up with him and his brother for dinner after probably a 20yr absence. He was a grown man, and a loving father! I was so proud to hear his accomplishments and how much his daughter meant to him! Here are a couple pics from that eavning. David will be missed by all who knew him. Fly high cousin! I love you and miss you!

Dear Starkeys,
It is with great sadness that I grieve with you the loss of David at so young an age and with such a precious daughter whom he loved so much. David has always been part of my memories of Our Lady of the Rosary parish and your family and has often been included in my prayers and Masses. I am so grateful to God that his mother was able to be with him in his final hours and that he was able to receive the Last Rites and prayers from both Fr. Aubin and Fr. Robitaille. He will continue to be in my prayers and Masses. I look forward to concelebrating his funeral Mass after this virus crisis. God bless you all +

Dave and I worked together briefly at CLMS and PVMS and there was one thing I learned quickly about him. He loved his students and enjoyed building relationships with them. He will be missed by many students and staff. My heartfelt condolences to his family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To Mr. Starkey's family,
Mr. Starkey was a great teacher and mentor to me. I lived to go into history class everyday in 6th grade. He made us smile, even when we were sad, and never had a dull moment in class. I couldn’t believe it for a second when I found out. I saw him 17 days before his passing, supporting his current and past students at the Pasco county fair. I hadn’t seen him in years, but missed him so much. I even talked to him about working at Pine View Middle school. I was thrilled, but loosing him was a shock, and he will never be forgotten, and he was important to me and put his stamp in my life.

Dearest Starkey Family,
We are so sorry for your profound loss. We are sending prayers and hugs to you, his daughter and your entire family. ❤
Our hearts are so heavy with sadness. The world lost a truly GREAT Teacher and person.
David was always happy, smiling, attentive and sincere. He genuinely cared…...about everything. He will be sorely missed.
Please know that your son's positive impact WILL LAST FOREVER in our child's memory. I'm a Sub Teacher so I also knew David as a colleague. Your son was all things to all people....teacher, helpful colleague, mentor, advocate.......friend.
Blessings to all of you.
Psalm 34:18
"The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Mrs. F.

My Godson..I watched David grow from a newborn to a towering strong man...smart, witty and a teacher much loved. There is a gaping hole now in the Starkey family for Mom, Dad, Steven and his little Cali. He was a good man. His quick smile and humor made everyone who knew him enjoy his time here. He is gone way too soon. Rest in peace David. Our love and prayers for you and all who loved you. Aunt Cheryl, Shantel, Nikki, Pharoh and Vincent.

Our hearts are heavy for the loss of our beloved David. To Jack, Denise, Steven, and Cali: We love you and send our prayers your way during this unbelievably sorrowful time. David was a good man, an incredible nephew, and by all accounts a wonderful father to his beautiful daughter, Cali. Please know that David will be remembered with such love always. His presence on Earth was important and has left a void for sure, but may his spirit inspire us all and bring his mother, father, brother, and daughter comfort always. We love you so very much, David. Forever, Uncle Brett & Aunt Bon.

Dave was always in a good mood and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. I met Dave through refereeing and came to know him more on a personal level as well. Such a good guy and always talked about his daughter and his love for her. We just talked about getting together a couple weeks back and this is all just so shocking to me.... I will really miss him.

Jack, Denise and Steven- There are no words to express how sorry we are about David. We can’t imagine the pain you’re feeling. We hold a lot of fun memories of David and our boys playing baseball and basketball and we are glad we got to see him & Cali a few weeks ago at a PVMS basketball game. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Praying that the Lord provides you peace that only He can give.
