Obituary of Lucia Catania Pirone

PIRONE, Lucia Catania “Lucille”, 70, of Tampa, Florida, passed away, Thursday, September 19, 2019.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York and came to Florida from Long Island in 1973.

She was a licensed cosmetologist and a gifted and talented artist. Lucille’s creativity knew no limits as she worked in various mediums including painting and drawing. Lucille also designed clothes, crocheted and knitted, created perfumes and fragrances, designed and created jewelry and enjoyed making beads.  Lucille was constantly learning and experimenting new ways to perfect her art.

Additionally, Lucille volunteered and contributed to various organizations and the community including the 700 Club; teaching Sunday School at St Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa, crocheting hats, scarfs, mittens and making other clothing items for the poor and needy of the parish of the Sacred Hearts of Mary and Jesus and St. Stephen in Brooklyn, New York, and for Pink It Up.  She also cared for her fur-babies, two cats, CP and TT; and two Beagles, Odin and Gracie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Maria Catania.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Louis; her son, Frederick; twin daughters, Jamie and Maria; two brothers, Thomas Catania and Salvatore Catania. Her love for her family was unconditional and her self sacrifice for her children and husband is unparalleled. She was a devout servant to God and follower of Jesus Christ.

Funeral services for Lucille will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 27^th at Loyless Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
