Obituary of Marie Smilee

SMILEE, Marie Ausley, 72, of Lutz, Fla., went home to be with her blessed Lord and Savior on November 14 with her loving family by her side. In 1957, Marie graduated from Hillsborough High School and held the title of Miss Greater Tampa. The only match for Marie’s external beauty was her inner beauty. She was a vibrant and loving woman, with a positive outlook on life. Marie was a bubbly, vivacious person who loved to travel. Marie and Gary had the opportunity to travel many places throughout the world, with Italy holding a special place in both their hearts. Marie had a wonderful and extensive group of friends, who have continuously sent their love and support throughout this difficult time. Everyone who knew Marie knows what a blessing it was to have her in their life. Marie is preceded in death by her mother, Edna Sigona and her siblings Dalton Ausley, Glen Ausley, Nell Mixon, and James Ausley. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Gary; two sons, Michael (Renee) and Vincent; two sisters, Mary Ann Ausley of Land O’ Lakes and June Alonso of Nashville; treasured grandchildren, Samantha and Daniel; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the First Baptist Church of Lutz. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
