Mendel was undoubtedly some of God's finest work. I never saw him treat anyone with disrespect or have any bitterness inside him. He was also one of the most talented people I have known, from making killer buns (actually rolls that we called "Mendel's buns", the ones with "noses" had no raisins:-) to re-upholstering furniture to getting an accounting degree later in life, I think just for the challenge! What a blessing his life was to all that he came into contact with. Selma and kids, my prayers are with you and may God give you strength and faith in the upcoming days and years ahead. You have lost a wonderful man but will never lose his memory and the profound impact he made in your lives. God bless you all and Mendel, we will see you again!

My first encounter with Mendel was in St. Thomas Virgin Islands working at JpMChase and he was an extraordinary individual. His exuberance, appearance and ability to connect with individuals was astounding. The thing that resounded the most for me was his laugh, as I can still hear him laugh now. I don't believe I have ever seen him on a bad day. We later met in Tampa (altough he did not remember me), he still had that same countenance, only to learn that he was a Man of God. Mendel ran this race with poise and endurance. My prayers goes out to the entire family and way to Go Mendel you have gotten your wings.

My deepest sympathy to the family, you are all in our thoughts and prayers. May God grant you his strength and comfort during this time of grief. Mendel was a very good friend and he will be missed but we know that he is at a better place. He is in the arms of his Lord and Savior, out of all pain and suffering. He is absent from this world but present with the Lord... What better place to be. I count it a privilege to have know Mendel and May his soul rest in peace..perpetual peace.
