Obituary of Thomas A. Dusz

DUSZ, Thomas Albert “Tom”, 63, of Lutz, Florida is at peace having entered into eternal rest November 12th, 2012 after suffering cardiac failure on November 9th. He was hospitalized, but was unresponsive even while on life support. Tom was born in Dayton, Ohio on February 15th, 1949. Tom’s wishes were that there would be no funeral service but the family plans a celebration of life on February 15, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert A. Dusz; parents, Robert Vern Dusz and Hallie (Price, Dusz) Brocklesby. He is survived by partner, Jane V. Stanton’; brother, Robert V. Dusz (Kathleen); two sisters, JoAnne (Dusz) Baer (Phil) and Marlene Sue Dusz (Bryan Brotheridge); step-father and best friend, George P. Brocklesby and many nieces and nephews. Tom retired from the University of Dayton Research Institute after 43 years located at Wright Patterson AFB. He began his career at UD at a very young age. After graduation from Beavercreek High School, class of 1967, due to his impeccable mechanical abilities, he was offered a job at UD in a lab where he performed metallurgy studies. Tom was returned to this same position after serving in the Army, 1st Cavalry Unit during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honored with a Purple Heart due to injuries received during his tour of duty. Tom was a Firearms Expert, enjoyed his passion of Harley Davidson Motorcycles and showing his Hot Rod at car shows throughout the Tampa Bay area. His companion, Jane, was always at his side. Tommy was a caring and loving pet owner and Pixie and Rocket will miss their buddy. He should be remembered for his kindness to his family, friends and neighbors. Toms other passion was helping other Veteran’s through their health struggles due to war related injuries. Tom was quick with advice on how to seek treatment for their medical needs. Tom could never pass another fellow Vet without thanking them for their service to our Country and "Welcome" them home. Welcome Home, Thomas A. Dusz, a stoic rock of a man.
