My thoughts are with the family. I remember Mr. Dawkins from Leto High where I was a student 1967-1968. Really nice man, with a sense of humor. May the many happy times spent with Mr. Dawkins help the family get through the times ahead.

Mr. Dawkins (as I called him right up until the last retiree breakfast where we saw him.) was my history teacher in 1958 at Sligh Jr. High. When I came to Leto to teach in 1972 he remembered me as a student and I certainly will never forget him for all of the American History I learned in the "large history class" that he implemented at Sligh.. Jim and I enjoyed his stories at the breakfasts and we still have an empty bottle with his private wine label on it. His life has been an example to many and I feel fortunate that he was a part of mine both as a student and as an adult. Our prayers are with the family, Love, Bonnie and Jim Parr

I shall have fond memories of Marvin Dawkins. I first met him when he was a Dean at East Bay High school and I was a student who had just moved from Quebec, Canada. In 1976, we met again as colleagues at Leto High School where he was Assistant Principal of Curriculum and I was a French & Spanish teacher and later on the Foreign Language language Dept. Head. At East Bay High, Mr. Dawkins drove a little red beetle and he still was driving it when I arrived at Leto High School. After retirement, several os us former colleagues from Leto would meet once a month at Perkins where Mr. Dawkins shared his interest in wine making and citrus growing. I remember once picking up a queen bee for him because he needed it for his beehive. I shall miss his enthusiasm. My condolences are offered to his loved ones. Monique Groulx, retired teacher

Joanna worked with Marvin for many years at Leto. My husband and I had the pleasure of being with Marvin and other Leto retirees for many years at our Leto Retiree Breakfast gatherings in Tampa. We shall always remember his many stories and how proud he was of the ribbons he won at the State Fair for his famous wine. It was delicious and we shall miss it. Rest in peace dear friend. Pain will be no more.
