Obituary of Carolyn S. Richards

RICHARDS, Carolyn, 64, of Masaryktown, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010. She was born in Tell City, Indiana and moved to Tampa from North Carolina in 1990. She was a member of Masaryktown Community Center and a bowling coach for the Young American Bowling Alliance. Carolyn was an avid bingo player and enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her father, Andrew Goffinet and her brother, Phillip. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Owen “Gene”; two sons, Jeffrey and James of Masaryktown; daughter, Sakina Ford and her husband, John of Land O’ Lakes; mother, Muriel Pekinpaugh of Tell City, IN; three sisters, Faye Seibert of Tell City, IN, Rosetta May and her husband, Roger of Spring Hill and Wilma Robinson and her husband, Roger of Evansville, IN; five grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley, Anissa, Joshua and Trevor and two great grandchildren; Samuel and Jayden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center, Pepin Heart Institute or the Diabetes Association. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, at the First United Methodist Church of Land O’ Lakes. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1 at Loyless Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Masaryktown Cemetery.
