Obituary of Benjamin Anthony Previte

PREVITE, Benjamin Anthony, 90, of Wesley Chapel, Fla., passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010. He was born in Frostburg, PA and moved to Florida from Chenango Bridge, NY in 1999. Ben served in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II for five years. Ben worked for Link Aviation for 45 years. He started as a Field Engineer in 1947, moved to Assistant Service Manager of the Air Force Program and ended up as a Customer Service Manager in 1962. Ben was Manager of Data Control on the Apollo Program in 1964, putting man on the moon. In 1977, Ben was promoted to the Engineering Department at Link as Program Manager. Here he was responsible for the full deployment of several Naval Flight Simulators until he retired in 1989. Ben is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth; son, John and his wife Shannon; four daughters, Barbara Weisberg and her husband Rick, Janet Boyles and her husband Ken, Judy Duffek and her husband, Tom and Joan Orzel and her husband David; brother, Ray Previte, fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. May 17th at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, Tampa. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 16th at Loyless Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
