Our association was all too brief, but we are so grateful for the opportunity we had during your years in Boise to become your friends and for the contact we have had since. Sandra, We pray that the Lord will bless you as you continue your journey here while David awaits you. We love you both. Doug and Ruth

In loving memory of a man of great wisdom and knowledge who lives and will always live in the hearts of those who knew him. A man who fought to the end with his own health issues and will help those in the hereafter to be just as strong and enduring as he was. Grandpa/Uncle David will always be remembered for his compassion to love and for his even greater ability to compel love in his mortal existence. Now those of the immortal, premortal, and others in the hereafter will again be able to experience the love and devotion of this man to the lives and spiritual well-being of ALL! We love and miss you, Jim, Linda, Sariah, Oliviah, and Mary

Tribute to a true friend and missionary companion: I liked David from the moment I first met him. He had a sense of humor and a laugh which endeared him to me. He would take a short story and translate individual words into Greman, Norwegian along with English. It was very clever. His mother really enjoyed those translations and of course it kept me in stitches. David was not only humorous but he was very spiritual as well. We often had gospel discussions that were deep and penetrating and caused us both to do some research. He didn't always agree with me or his Father. Being with David was not a boring experience, but very stimulating. Dorothy and I had the glorious experience to be with David and Sandra in the San Diego Temple when they were sealed together. Sandra is his eternal sweetheart and wishes he could be with her now. Our family loves this truly remarkable family and prays they will always be together. Love and admoration, Bruce, Dorothy, Dave Deb, Joanne, Sharon, Bonnie Dan and Spence

Dear Sandra and Family, Loving thoughts are being sent your way. I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. A kind, loving Heavenly Father has welcomed David home and is taking very good care of him on the other side of the veil, as you did while he was here with us all. God Bless you. You are all in our prayers. May you be blessed with peace from our Comforter above. With much love from Cheryl and Bruce Wilde.

I feel a great loss in the passing of my brother David. My son David Ray was named to honor both my brother and my father. I will remember all to good time we shared together. He was my closest brother in age and I spent more time with him than my other siblings. I am sure family and loved ones welcomed him with love and joy. One day we will all join the family reunion on the other side of this life. Until then I will miss, remember and always love my brother David Hyrum Engebretsen.
