In the years I came to know Peter, I came to respect and love him for his dedication to youth service. I know that his family, especially his late father, Bill, was proud of his selfless service to the young athletes that he mentored through his "Diamond Elite" baseball program. He strove to make a difference in this world, and what more could any ask of a full life. To Phyllis and Donald, remember how Peter made a great difference in so many lives. Friends, family, boys, and the families of those boys. That will always be his legacy.

Coach Pete, I have to start by saying, im glad you got to see your Yankees win the series this year (thats hard to say coming from a Sox fan) i know you were watching every minute. I feel lucky to be able to say that i knew you, your presence and attitude are things that cannot be forgotten. I know i can speak for all the players when i say playing for you and DVE was an honor and a priviledge and I know we played our hearts out for you and made you proud. Thank you for helping make my dream of playing college baseball come true and i know that everytime one of your players steps on the field you will be watching every pitch and I hope we make you proud. You are the man that took kids dreams and made them come true and that legacy will live on forever. I'll take the field this season in rememberence of you. With a heavy heart, Dane Wisneski #11

My sincere condolences to the family. Peter was a great man and a great inspiration to all of us who were fortunate to have met him. I worked closely over the past year with him helping with Diamond Vision. It was his wish to see that every child that wanted to play baseball had that opportunity. Through his generosity and the generosity of his family and friends, he made those opportunities happen. I am sure that by now Peter has held a try out and is forming one the best baseball teams in heaven!!!! He taught the players on this years team that the only way to play the game of baseball and to live life is with 100% NO REGRETS. I will miss you my friend. Amanda Murrell

This damn cancer might have taken you away from us, our family, (i dont mean to be cliche) but you will always be apart of it. And one more thing. instead of your dads intials on the jersey sleeves, I hope that we put yours not only for us to remind us who you were and why, but to remind us that a family can never split apart no matter what. Cousin, Peter, you will always be in my heart. Of all the laughs we had together, and the times we broke each other's chops. The times we opened our hearts together, and spoke about the precious things in life. You always made me laugh, and I could always put a smile upon your face. You had a big heart, and a very distinct personality, in which I will miss dearly. I was honored to see all the accomplishments you had done with Diamond Vision Elite, and how you worked with all the players to create such a fine team. You truly are a special person, with a warm heart. I'll miss you Peter. Love, Billy.

Regretfully, I only knew Peter for a few short months, but he left a lasting impression that will touch me forever. His heart and zest for life were as as generous as his laugh. He taught us so much not only during times of health, but, even moreso, during his illness. I will always remember Peter and his fight to live and what he endured these past six months and never will I take for granted the fortune of good health and how important it is not to sweat the small stuff. In the afterlife, he will continue to teach me the lessons of courage, determination and humanity that Peter lived by. I am honored to have known him, as are all of us who were lucky enough to cross paths with a man who truly lived his life 100% with no regrets.

Pete's brother, Don, has been a dear friend for nearly 35 years, and that's how I got to know Peter. He truly was a sweetheart of a man, without a mean bone in his body. I will cherish the good times we had together in West Palm Beach back when he owned Michael's Pub. As others have already noted, people were attracted to Pete's innate goodness. They sensed a gentle and generous soul. He was so proud of his baseball players and coaches, and I know how much he will be missed by them. And to Mom and Don -- leukemia never met a tougher foe than you two, who fought right alongside Pete. Rest well, Big Pete. Your spirit is alive in so many.

Peter was an amazing man he was loved dearly by many. Nathan and I will miss him very much but we are grateful for having the time we did with Peter. Peter was the father Nathan never had and he helped make him the man he is today and I could never thank him enough for that. Although Nathan and I are not Peter's blood he will always be Nathan's Father and my Father - in-law. Peter fought hard and I will never forget when he was first diagnosed and Nathan and I moved in with him, Peter and I would sit up at night talking and eating ice pops.He talked about the future and how nothing was going to stop him. Peter and I became very close and he even trusted me to give him his shots every morning. He always joked that I enjoyed doing it but it actually broke my heart every time. I will miss him so much. We stood by each other through the good and bad times. I will miss him and his wit, humor and kindness that he showed me through all these years. We laughed together, cried together and grew up together. Experiencing adolesence and adulthood together. We called him "The Hip". He will live in my heart forever. But now he is at peace.
