Obituary of Mary J. Carbonaro

Mary Jane Carbonaro (nee Scandiffio) passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on Wednesday September 20^th, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Frank A. Carbonaro, she spent her final years at the Legacy at Highlands Preserve.  She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and was also a resident in Sussex, New Jersey before moving to Florida. A loving mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her son Jim and wife Beverly and by her daughter Jane and her husband Steve and her two grandchildren Debra and her husband Rayne and Barbara and her husband Kevin.. She was also a great grandmother to 4 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Henry, Molly and Emilia.

Mary survived her husband by 49 years during which she lived her life independently while she mourned his loss from cancer at the age of 53. She learned to drive and carry on with the help of her family for all of these many years. She supported herself working as seamstress in Sussex NJ for many years before moving to Florida.
