Obituary of Elmer Edward William Hurlstone

Elmer Edward William Hurlstone, age 77, of Tampa, Florida, peacefully went home to be with Jesus on August 22, 2023, at home with his wife of 50 years at his side.

Elmer was born on July 13, 1946 in Mobile, Alabama to Elmer P. and Altena Hurlstone.  When he was 3 years old, the family moved to Tampa, FL.  He graduated from King High School.

He was interested in many things and worked in a variety of fields. He finally started his own business, called Hurlstone Services, primarily a document delivery service, but which also included exporting, photography, water testing, online marketing, and whatever else might be needed (or interesting).

He enjoyed photography, his time in Toastmasters, and technology. He loved to read and learn new things and then share them with others. He became active on social media and enjoyed being a “character”, especially fond of puns.

He was faithful to his family and friends and maintained relationships for many years.

He will be missed by those who know him… he touched many lives during his time here.

Elmer is survived by his loving family, including his wife Becky, his children Andrew, Christy, and Timothy (Amanda); his two brothers Paul (Barbara) and Errol (Sherrie), and his 4 grandchildren, Robert, Cassandra, Annabelle, and Phoebe.
