Nicholas Verzi

Obituary of Nicholas Anthony Verzi

Nicholas Anthony Verzi (Papa Nick) was a loving son, and husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and patriot.

Passed away August 13, 2023, at the age of 75.  His battle with serious medical issues in the past year showed his strength and courage in facing life challenges with a smile.

Born to Louis and Anne Verzi on January 2, 1948.  Nicholas served in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam Conflict.  He later started a business, V.I.P. Plastic Card Services, Inc. in Tampa Florida which he operated for 25 plus years.  He retired in April 2022.

The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Nick.  His pride was in his children and grandchildren whom he cherished.  He was gregarious, entertaining, outspoken, honest, and full of life.  His smile could light up the room.  Nick loved to visit with friends and family.  He was famous for giving people nicknames.  If a pool-party was mentioned, he was grabbing his flip flops.  He enjoyed the beach or pretty much anywhere near water.  He was an avid Beatles fan and loved to sing their songs.  He waited every year in anticipation for football season and attended as many Tampa Bay Buccaneers games as possible.  He loved traveling, singing, fishing, hiking, biking, and ANY casino in the vicinity.

He is survived by his wife, Crystal Verzi; Brother, David Fanning; Daughters, Valerie Verzi, Candise Tomorelli (Erick), Regina Britt (Donald) and Anna Easterling (Josh); Grandchildren-Mikel Cartagena, Donald Britt, Adam Phillips, Kaleb Verzi, Isabella Tomorelli, Elijah Curtis, Victoria Tomorelli, Chloe Verzi, Zachary Tomorelli, Jax Easterling, Alaina Tomorelli and Gage Otte.

Nick was preceded in death by his mother Anne Verzi; Stepfather, Jack Fanning; Brothers, Jack & Paul Fanning and sister, Mary Beth Piacenti.

He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
