Michael Diesu, beloved spouse and devoted partner, passed away on June 30, 2023. Mike leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Born on April 23, 1934, Mike was a cherished soul mate, loving father, and genuine friend. He possessed a beautiful energy, positive outlook, and heartwarming smile. Mike touched the lives of all who crossed his path and his absence will be deeply felt by his family and friends.

Mike was a man of honor and integrity; always a man of his word and someone you knew could be counted on. He was a constant source of strength and support, consistently there to lend a listening ear or offer wise counsel.

In addition to his remarkable personal qualities, Mike was an accomplished businessman and entrepreneur. After many years in the construction business, he branched off to provide real estate building inspections and appraisals as well as pest control services. Mike was highly respected in his field.

Throughout his life, Mike was also a man of varied interests, hobbies, and abilities. At the American Kennel Club (AKC), he became Field Director of Sporting Breeds and Vice President. His love of sporting dogs blossomed into a position with the AKC that enabled him to be involved in the dog world while still running a full-time inspection business.

Upon retiring, Mike pursued many new interests, including raising canaries and radio control flying. After moving to Florida 18 years ago, he was able to pursue his passion for building planes from scratch and getting them to fly. The many hours he spent in his workshop brought Mike tremendous joy. He was a longtime member of Bay City Flyers where he was involved with administration of the club and flying with the many friends he made.

Although we deeply mourn the loss of Mike, we also celebrate the beautiful life he lived. His memory will be forever cherished by his surviving family members, including his wife Gerrlynn Diesu; daughter Joan Miaritis and husband Lou Miaritis; daughter Frances Diesu; daughter Lisa Bonura and husband Kevin Bonura; son Michael Diesu and wife Carla Diesu; daughter Patricia Rex and partner Craig Matus; daughter Christine Hibbert and husband Chris Hibbert; grandchildren James Miaritis and wife Theoni Miaritis; Nicholas Miaritis and wife Jenny Miaritis; Michael Rex; Danielle Diesu; Michael Diesu and wife Alexa Diesu; great grandchildren Valentina Diesu and Sophia Miaritis; stepson Brian Cohen and partner Kim Hickam; stepdaughter Heather Moss and husband Adam Moss and step grandsons Isaac Moss and Rex Moss.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Mike’s name to The American Heart Association, The Humane Society, or charity of your choosing. By contributing to these causes, we can continue Mike’s legacy of making a positive impact on the lives of others.

A memorial service will be held at Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513) on August 25th at 2:30 PM.

Let us remember Mike with hearts full of gratitude and love. His spirit will forever guide and inspire us as we navigate life’s journey. May Michael Diesu’s soul find eternal peace and may he forever remain in our hearts.
