Obituary of Douglas Wilson Dickie

Douglas (Doug) Wilson Dickie, 96, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Doug was born on June 6, 1925 in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts.

 

Doug married the love of his life, Polly Grennor, on December 1, 1951 in Massachusetts. Married for 68 year, they raised four amazing children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly. He is survived by his children:  Bruce (Kewalin), Douglas (Suzanne), Carol Daubney (Mark), and James (Allison); grandchildren: Trevor (Sandra), Rachelle (Jim), Clement, Matthew (Stephanie), Wasana, Alexis, Christina, David, and Sarah; and great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Annika, Gavin, Samantha, Sienna, Campbell, and Liviana.

 

Doug is a veteran of World War II. He served honorably in the Army Air Corps, achieving the rank of Sergeant.

 

Doug’s greatest loves were family, handy-work, and the Lord. He lived out his faith in service through multiple church ministries. During his downtime he enjoyed watching The 700 Club and reading his Bible. He will be remembered as a hardworking, family loving, Christian. 

 

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) or the Alzheimer’s Association . There will be a private Celebration of Life on December 18th via Zoom for family and friends. Please share photos and memories on the Loyless website page.
