What a beautiful wonderful neighbor with such a sense of humor. In Sept 2017, we tried to get Mary to evacuate to our farm in the Pan Handle of Florida to dodge Hurricane Irma. Mary of course just laughed, stating she could survive a hurricane she survived much worse. Realizing she was determined to stay put, I tried to give her a key to our condo so if she needed anything like food or water and didn’t have it, she could come get ours. I believe her words were: “child, I was raised during the war and survived a week on a potatoe, I’m sure I can survive months on the food I have today.” Mary, we loved you, we will miss you, you are someone we will always admire and look up too. God has gained an Angel today!
