Obituary of Angel Ripalda

Angel E Ripalda, 76, of Land O Lakes, Florida, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Aura; son, Raul; daughter, Lissette and husband Ryan; grandchildren Ellen, Catalina and Sebastian and greatgrandchild Gianna. He is also survived by his brother Juan; his sisters Olga, Zoila, Mercedes, Maria and Conchy; along with nieces, nephews and extended family. Angel was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maria. 

Angel was born on June 10^th, 1943 in Quito, Ecuador. As a young man, Angel served in the Ecuadorian Army as a paratrooper, before moving to New York in 1971. After retiring in 2005, Angel moved to Florida to be closer to his only daughter and watch his grandchildren Catalina & Sebastian grow up.

Angel was a wonderful husband, father and a grandfather with a big heart. He truly loved his grandchildren Catalina and Sebastian, you could find him most days bringing them to school, soccer practice or sneaking a snack with them afterschool. He was an avid soccer fan and followed both the US and Ecuadorian national teams. In his younger years, he was a smooth dancer and enjoyed listening to music, especially songs by Rafael. In his free time, you’d find him swimming in the pool or beach, playing volleyball, or challenging his family and friends to a game of cards. 

A celebration of Angel’s life will begin at 7:00 PM on Saturday, December 7^th at Loyless Funeral Home in Land O Lakes. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
