Obituary of Richard Kenneth Larson, Sr.

Richard “Dick” Kenneth Larson, Sr. 79, of Tampa, passed away August 26, 2019. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 58 years, Nancy; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Tiffany Larson, Jr. and Dan and Tia Larson; his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Brian Hurter and his brother, Dennis Larson and his family. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Aubrey, D.A., Ashley, Brooke, Cody, Keaton, Preston, Cade, Ava, Zack, Brant, and Kinley. He was predeceased by his parents Wilbur R.H. and Lillian L. (Turos) Larson. Dick had retired from the insurance industry working with numerous companies, serving in roles such as CEO and President. He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church where he also served in many capacities such as Extraordinary Ministry, being an usher, a member of the Welcome Committee, the Men’s Bible Study Group and the Men’s Wine Group. He was also a 4^th Degree Knight of Columbus. Dick had many things he enjoyed doing, such as golf, collecting wine, working out at the gym and doing water aerobics. Although Dick had so many diverse interests, his greatest love was his family; his big heart and huge presence made it so there was no one like him. He was a role model and loyal husband throughout his lifetime. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30^th from 9 o’clock am until 9:45 am at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church 9724 Cross Creek Blvd. Tampa, FL 33647 with a Concelebrated Funeral Mass to follow at 10 o’clock am. Private family burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Clearwater. The family has entrusted Loyless Funeral Home with his arrangements.
