Obituary of Carmen Amengual

Carmen Rosa Amengual (“Rosin”), 74 of Land O’ Lakes passed away on June 23, 2019.  She was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico and raised her family in Hollis, Queens for over 35 years before moving to Land O’ Lakes in 2006. Carmen was a homemaker and raised 5 children. She was a proud Puerto Rican, who embraced her heritage to the fullest. Carmen was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Church and a devoted Catholic. She was all about family, and treasured spending quality time with her family and friends. Carmen was a spunky little lady who always put others’ needs before her own.  She demonstrated such courage and strength to us all. Her interests included Facetiming her children and grandchildren, connecting with family and friends on Facebook, decorating her home and creating beautiful knitted creations. 

Carmen was married to her late husband, Angel Manuel Amengual, Sr. for 54 years and is survived by her sons, Angel Manuel Amengual, Jr., Samuel Jose Amengual; daughters, Lucelaine Rivera and her husband, Raul, Carolyne Amengual and Carmen Lydia Amengual. She is also survived by her two brothers, Diego Rodriguez and his wife, Gloria; Francisco Rodriguez and his wife, Juana; two sisters, Gladys Arroyo and her husband Raymond and Carmen Lydia Gutierrez. Carmen is also survived by her grandchildren, Justine Marie Castillo and her husband, Hector; Cristina Nicole Hendra and her husband, Robert; Crystal Marie Martinez; Joshua Cody Rivera; Hayley Elizabeth Amengual; Jorge Luis Sanchez, Jr.; Valerie Inez Amengual; Brian Luis Sanchez; and Matthew Luis Sanchez. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, Jayden Areall and Logan Angel, plus one on the way in October. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Loyless Funeral Home 5310 Land O’Lakes Blvd. from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 10 o'clock am at Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Church 2348 Collier Parkway Land O’Lakes 34639 with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital.
