I became reunited with Aunt Nancy when the family moved to Florida. She and Roseann came down to see us cousins in S. Florida. We had a wonderful, magical time at Villagio Restaurant. It was Aunt Nancy, Roseann, Michael K, Robin and me. After this visit, I would periodically take the train up to Tampa to see my Aunt and cousins. It was wonderful having this family back in my life....like no time had passed. At one point my cousin Roseann asked me to come up to Lutz to "Aunt-sit" since she had to fly out of town for a wedding and could not leave her mom alone. I had a blast with my Aunt, we laughed, we reminisced and her memory about family from days gone by was spectacular. I cooked for my aunt and Roseann's husband Gary. I also took my Aunt on a road trip to Costo and had her sit in front of the the flowers with wearing a large brimmed hat. Aunt Nancy was a hoot and I loved being around her. When I got back home after that visit, I was so glad that I went. I will miss her dearly.

In 1979, she welcomed me with a bright, toothy smile and, as it was a Saturday night we met, she was busy frying Italian sausages that would later be served with a crusty bread and a simple iceberg lettuce salad. Sinatra would invariably be playing on the stereo. These precious Saturday evenings would become known as ‘The Three S’s” – “Saturday, Sinatra and Sausage!” Her crisp, printed cotton blouse was tucked neatly into her ‘mom’ jeans, which were as cool at the time as they are now and fit her ‘just so.’ Her Reebok sneakers were bright white, not a scuff in sight. We took an instant liking to each other and spent the night talking in the kitchen drinking wine and smoking cigarettes. When Tim and I were back in New Jersey later that evening, she called to ask if I had noticed whether or not she had been wearing a cherished necklace she had misplaced. When I told her I hadn’t noticed a necklace, she asked why I kept looking at her neck? I was busted: I had been staring at her neck because I thought it was beautiful ‘for a 50-year old woman!’ We laughed and laughed. That was Nancy and me. Rest easy, Mom.
Para siempre,
Leslie

When I think of Nancy “aka Nana” McHale I cannot help but smile. She was such a special person in my life and I was fortunate enough to know her for many years. Being loved by her was to be enveloped in a warm cocoon. She was a positive force in my life and never failed to make me feel better when I was feeling down.
I have many fond memories but I’d have to say that the trips to Long Island and Florida when Mandy was a baby was a particularly special time in our lives. I will always remember her home-cooked meals and Frank Sinatra in the background.
RIP Nancy McHale. You will always be in my heart.

The world is certainly a less bright place with the loss of Nancy. She was a very dear, long-time friend of Colleen. The ladies shared many happy times together in Ventura and also visits with each other in both New York and Michigan, and more recently at Roseann's in Florida. Nancy had an infectious smile and such a fetching sense of humor. Everything she said was with a little glimmer of spunkiness in her eyes. Our most sincere condolences we send to the family. We know this next chapter of your lives will have a serious void. We pray that all your wonderful memories of this beautiful, beautiful lady will bring you great comfort in the future. She was a blessing and a phenomenal gift to all who had the pleasure of having her in their lives. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

A Tribute to my Beautiful Aunt Nancy,
What a total Joy it has been throughout the years to know and be a part of my very precious, loving, kind, enthusiastic, talented, Aunt Nancy’s life. The many times we’d get together through the years and play our Beatle music where she’d sing with me and I played my guitar to her favorite songs. She so looked forward to those times and so did I.
The love she shared with her husband, my Uncle Frank, was a role model for all to see.
Her strength and tenacity which she exemplified, was truly like no other.
The entire family, including cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and all who knew her, could attest to her endless love, zest for life and love for her family.
She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
We love you, Rest In Peace now with our Lord Jesus Christ and all your loved ones who’ve gone before you.
