Obituary of Joseph Hinton Rogers III

Joseph Hinton Rogers III, 45, of Land O' Lakes, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.

He was a born in Lakeland, Florida and was a graduate of the University of South Florida in both computer science and computer engineering. Instead of leaving USF, he accepted a position there. He was an IT professional and network administrator for over 25 years.

Joe was also a cyber-security expert and a white hatter. He competed in capture the flag tournaments at DEFCON. In later years, he worked with friends and business partners of the Legitimate Business Syndicate to host the DEFCON CTF and the Cyber Grand Challenge. 6557 4120 6572 4c20 7365 2053 654c 6967 2e74.

Joe loved movies. He loved Dr. Who, Star Trek, and the Marvel Universe. He also loved being outdoors hunting with his father, off-road biking with his friends, and hiking with his wife. He and his wife took frequent vacations to the Caribbean, where his favorite activity was snorkeling.

Joe was preceded in death by grandparents, Monroe M Thompson; and Joe and Avis Rogers.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kim; parents, Joseph H. II and Sherry Rogers; grandmother, Eva Thompson along with many extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 29th at Loyless Funeral Home in Land O Lakes.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made the Moffitt Cancer Center, the Colorector Cancer Alliance, or HPH Hospice.
