Obituary of Manuel German Garate

GARATE, Manuel German, 80, of Hudson, Florida passed away on February 27, 2019. He was born in Santiago, Chile and moved to the U.S. in 1976. He was Catholic in faith and was a good Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother & Son. 

An artist at heart, he listened to music of all genres from Elvis Presley to Billy Ray Cyrus to Andrea Bocelli. His charismatic personality drew smiles from those all around him. A gentle giant with a heart so big, he was kind to every person he encountered. The ultimate joy of his life was being around his family and friends. Some of his favorite pastimes included discussing sports with his children and friends, visiting his beloved Chile and sharing stories with his precious grandchildren. An avid animal lover, he enjoyed spending hours with his bestie, his Siberian Husky Kobe. He was the type of person who always offered support in someones time of need. He will forever be remembered as an angel who loved without question and gave his time to those he loved.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sonia Garate; daughter, Pia (Claudio) Gomez; two sons, Tony (Denise) Garate and Claudio Garate; four grandchildren, Pedro, Paula, Anthony, and Matthew; and six siblings, Sergio, Jorge, Doris, Norma, Sonia, and Sylvia. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, March 2nd 2019 at 7:00pm at Loyless Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends one hour prior.
