Obituary of Herbert Bowers Woolf

WOOLF, Herbert Bowers, "Jim", 94, of Tampa passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Tampa in 1934 at the age of 16. Jim was a graduate of Hillsborough High School. After graduating high school, Jim and his father created a tropical fish business, "H. Woolf and Son". He was a member of Tims Memorial Presbyterian Church in Lutz. Jim was an Army Air Corp flight instructor during WWII, also flying for Pan American Airlines in South America. At the conclusion of the war, he returned to Tampa incorporating his flight experience, with his business acumen, making "H. Woolf and Son" the world's largest producer and shipper of tropical fish worldwide. He enjoyed life to the fullest, even calling himself, "Mr. Lucky". Jim traveled to over 100 countries and all seven continents. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Cheryl Estabrook; son, Charles and his wife, Ceres; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He enjoyed an extended family of four step-children and their families. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 23rd at John Knox Village Chapel.
