Obituary of Mathilda Rose Whitten

WHITTEN, Mathilda Rose, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 surrounded by family. Mathilda was born in Wilmington, Delaware where she resided until moving to Tampa, FL in 2007. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and a retired Medical Office Assistant. She was a former member of the Brandywine Doll Club and The Business and Professional Women's Foundation. Mathilda was preceded in death by her husband, Donald S. Whitten in 2006. She was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima in New Castle, DE; St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Bear, DE; and St. Timothy's in Tampa, FL. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Marilyn Bryant and her fiance Bob Stransky of Newark, DE; her son, Donald M. Whitten of Newark, DE; her son, R. Craig Whitten and his wife, Cindy, of Landenberg, PA; and her daughter, Liz Ruane and her husband, Tony, of Tampa, FL. She will also be missed by her five grandchildren, Tony, Craig, Sean, Nick, and Hannah; and her Caregiver, Angela Okechukwu. A memorial service will be held on August 6; details to be announced at a later date.
