Obituary of George Rogers Carter
CARTER, George Rogers, Sr., 71, of Dade City passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012. He was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. moved to Tampa and graduated from Hillsborough High School. George was a U.S. Marine Veteran. He retired as Captain from Tampa Fire Rescue and served on the board of directors of the Tampa Retired Firefighters. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte and her daughters, Marsha and Pam; two sons, Lawson and his wife, Kristen and George, Jr. and his wife, Tammy; four daughters, Becci Carter and Dennis, Julie Bernys and her husband, Daryl, Christine Jacobsen and her husband, John, Kimberly Blake and her husband, Dr. Jonathan; sister, Jackie Avery; six grandsons, Tom, Cody, Casey, Dakota, Joey, Jett; three granddaughters, Chelsea, Emily, Skyla; as well as several other nieces, nephews, family members and friends. A celebration of George’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
