Obituary of Craig Paul Byers

BYERS, Craig Paul, 52, of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012. He was born in Bedford, Ohio and moved to Florida in 1982. Craig's professional career was in the financial arena. He had his own company, Shining Star Financial Services, Inc. where he specialized in brokering multi-million dollar commercial loans and leasing of heavy equipment. He also has 22 years in banking as Vice President, Special Assets for South Trust Bank and Barnett Bank. Craig was active in the community volunteering his time with Northside Little League where both his sons currently play ball. He has also volunteered his time with the Carrollwood Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Youth Football League. Craig was an avid sports fan and loved his Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen. Craig is survived by Kim Charette, two sons, Alexander and Christopher; father, Earl; brother, John and his wife, Barbara of Orlando, Fla., sister, Nancy and her husband, David Doksansky of Macedonia, Ohio; three nephews, Brian and Steven Doksansky and John Patrick Byers. A celebration of Craig’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on January 12 at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Craig’s memory to the Northside Little League, 16124 Ravendale Drive, Tampa, Fla., 33618.
