Obituary of Ruth Carlena Rhodes

RHODES, Ruth “Carlena”, 94, went to be with God on January 17th, 2013. She was born in Morrilton, AK on September 8th of 1918. She moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia after her marriage in 1944, and then moved to Vero Beach, FL in 1985 for most of her retired years with her husband. She spent her last three years living at Horizon Bay in Lutz, FL. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert A. Rhodes, Sr.; her dear son, Carl T. Rhodes, and her six brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Robert A. Rhodes, Jr., and his wife, Barbara; two grandsons, David and Scott Rhodes all of Tampa, FL and her daughter-in-law Claudia Rhodes and two grandsons, Anthony and Nick Rhodes and her two great grandchildren, Anthony, Jr. and Jacob all of Coral Springs, FL. She will be loved and remembered by her son, all her family and the many friends she made during her lifetime of kindness to everyone she knew. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28th. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Her final resting place will be with her loving husband in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
