Obituary of Homer C. Piakis

PIAKIS, Homer Costantinos, “Brandon”, 78, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013. He was born in Roslyn (Long Island), New York and moved to Brandon, Florida in 1975. In 1979, he moved to Vero Beach where he was an optician and owned World of Vision for fifteen years. Brandon moved to Land O’ Lakes in 2000 and worked with Walmart Optical. He enjoyed sailing, swimming and traveling. He is preceded in death by his brother, John Piakis. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Julia; five children, Amy Kirby and her husband, John, Olivia Bosma, Alex and his wife, Kim, Stephen, and George “Joe” Piakis; sister, Felicia Galanos; six grandchildren, Syraphina, Gabriella, Nicholas, Colton, Trey and Ashley. A celebration memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18th at St. Peter the Apostle, 12747 Interlaken Road, Trinity, FL 34655.
