Obituary of Tita Ningmua Gabriel Fomunung

Prince Gabriel Ningmua Fomunung was born on January 1st 1925 in Bali subdivision, North West Province, Republic of Cameroon. Educated at the Roman Catholic School and baptized a catholic, he graduated in 1944 with a Standard Six Certificate, today’s equivalent of a Secondary School Diploma .In 1945, he joined the Nigerian Federal Police Force and served in the Government of both Nigeria and Cameroon; rising in ranks to attain the function of Chief of Public Security, a post he held at various stations until retirement in Dec 1985 after serving for forty years. He educated all fourteen children of his with top quality education; today their professions range from Doctors, Pharmacists, Engineers, Nurses, Economists, Businessmen and much more. In late September 2012, his children flew him to the United States for a minor health challenge but on November 7, 2012, he was rushed to the hospital and in spite of best medical care and continuous daily showers of love from all his children and his spouse, he passed on to Glory on Saturday December 1, 2012 at 09:20 AM, EST. He is survived by his second wife, Mrs. Regina Fomunung (he lost his first wife Mama Elizabeth Kayeba in 1971), fourteen children, twelve daughters- in- law and sons- in- law, thirty grandchildren, and four great grand children; Also mourning are Well-wishers and friends in BCA- USA and the Cameroon community in the US. He was one month short of his 88th birthday and very blessed, lived a fruitful, healthy and happy life. He never complained of a headache, looked twenty years younger than his age He died with a broad smile on his face. He ran the race, fought the good fight and won the Peace of God that surpasses human understanding. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 29th at Loyless Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. His final resting place will be in the Fomunung Family Cemetery in Bali, Cameroon Africa, North West Region.
