Obituary of Nello Caldi

CALDI, Nello, 96, of Bushnell, Florida, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012. He was born in Avon, Connecticut to Julius and Sena Caldi. He moved to Illinois and was a WWII Army veteran and a life member of VFW, post 6871 in Petersburg, Illinois. Before moving to Florida, he worked for many years at Ideal Industry and later was self-employed in carpentry and roofing. Nello was a good man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going fishing, catching turtles and hunting. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred and son Donald. He is survived by his son Verlin, and his wife, Irene of Bushnell, Florida; four grandchildren, Ronald, Christianne, Leah and Julia; ten great grandchildren, Sabrina, John, Adam, Michael, Kyle, Hannah, Matthew, Clara, Mark and Gabriella. A funeral mass will take place on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Petersburg, Ilinois. The family will recieve friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg, Illinois. Donations in memory of Mr. Caldi may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
