Obituary of Patricia Dawn Johnson

JOHNSON, Patricia Dawn Thomas, “Trisha”, 44, of Wesley Chapel, Florida passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012. She was born in Bitburg Air Force Base in Germany. Raised in Miami, Fla., she graduated from Palmetto Senior High School. She attended Florida State University for undergraduate training and worked for the State of Florida Agricultural Department. Trisha earned her Bachelor of Psychology Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University where she worked as a research analyst in medical trials. She was an Associate Director in Patent and Licensing Division of the University of South Florida. Trisha is preceded in death by her daughter, Samantha Rae in 1996; maternal grandparents, Geraldine and Walter Laskis; paternal grandparents, Beulah and Richard Thomas; mother-in-law, Geraldine Johnson Yost. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Denny; daughter, Rachael Nicole Johnson of Boca Raton; parents, Judith and Furman Thomas of Palm Harbor; brother, PFC Richard Furman Thomas (US Army) and his fiancée, Kasi Knight of Savannah, GA; sister, Hope Thomas of Hudson; nephew, Zackery; niece, Sofia. Donations may be made in her memory to the St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. A memorial service will held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15th at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
