Obituary of Jack Harbor Horne

HORNE, Jack Harbor, 79, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 after a yearlong battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Knoxville, TN on April 22, 1933. After serving in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955, he was employed as a customer service agent with United Air Lines for 32 years, retiring in 1988. Most of his years with United Airlines were in Atlanta, GA before being transferred to Tampa in 1980. His favorite pastimes included fishing, boating/water skiing and visiting family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mildred Horne; sister, Sue Hancock and grandson, Joey. Jack will be greatly missed by his surviving wife, Maxine Bourgea; three sons, Mike of Atlanta, GA, Keith of Albany, OR and Steve of Land O’ Lakes; two daughters, Vickie Betts of Newnan, GA and Sandy Clarke of Kildeer, IL; brother, Jim of Townsend, TN; six grandchildren; one great grandson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2nd at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
