Carl, Andrea and Katie, My husband, Howard, and I would like to express our deepest sympathy to you and your family on the passing of your father. I will always remember his smile and the twinkle in his eyes. Living two houses down from him, Roger was a wonderful neighbor. He never played any loud music or had any wild parties (ha-ha). Whenever he noticed something suspicious happening in the neighborhood, he would call me to let me know what was going on. He was a very thoughtful and caring man. While sharing a few beers with him in his home, he would tell me stories about his time in the U.S. Air Force and how he had met the love of his life, Gretchen. I could listen to him talk for hours. He was a great teller of stories and jokes. Most often I would leave his home in tears, as a result of my laughing so much. When Katie was born, you could tell that he was a proud grandfather. I loved to listen to him refer to her as "Katie Pooh". I will miss seeing Roger getting his mail with his grabbers and giving me the thumbs up sign while driving by on my way to work. His kindness has touched my heart and he will be deeply missed by all. I am honored to have had him for a neighbor and friend for 20 years. I pray that you all find comfort during this time of need. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Helen Keller once wrote, "What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us."

I grew up knowing Rocky and I will miss him greatly. He was one of the most friendly men I have ever known, next to my father, Ed Dryer (mentioned in the obituary). I remember with great fondness the many celebrations that were held at the house while growing up with Carl. And, yes, Rocky did love his beer and the Packers, especially when they beat the Bucs. Irene Dryer also wants to pass on her well wishes to the Rockman family in their time of need and mourning. She also wants the family to know that she is here for anything that Carl and his family may need.

I feel very blessed that Roger was a part of my family too for 20 years. My family will remember the man with the big smile, hearty deep laugh, funny jokes, and generous heart. It won't be the same visit anymore when we come to Brandon and he is not sitting in that kitchen chair so happy to see everyone. All our love to you Carl, Andrea and Katie, you all were the best part of his life. David and Dina Ochs
