Obituary of Mary Ruth Mens

MENS, Mary Ruth, 86, of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. She was born in Hillsville, VA and moved to Land O’ Lakes from Bedford, VA in 2008. Mary was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bedford, VA. She had a great love of life, enjoying her family, gardening, cooking fruits and vegetables, listening to music of all types, as well as numerous other activities and loved her Atlanta Braves. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Rachel Locke Padgett; as well as her nine siblings. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Mens in 2008. She is survived by her six sons, Kenneth Moore and his wife, Barbara of Land O’ Lakes, David R. Moore and his wife, Ginger of Fancy Gap, VA, Owen Moore and his wife, Faye of Cripple Creek, VA, James Moore and his wife, Colleen of Oxford, NC, Jeff Moore and his wife, Mary of Richmond, VA and Stanley Oldham of Bedford, VA. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She had many nieces and nephews. A memorial services will be held on Saturday 10 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wesley Chapel and and on September 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 947 Lyle Street Bedford, VA 24523.
