Obituary of Antonette Henry

HENRY, Antonette, died in her home under the care of HPH Hospice with the people who loved her most by her side on July 21, 2011 after a valiant struggle with tongue cancer. Antonette came to America when she was 18 after living in Germany, Russia, and Poland and escaping from a prisoner of war camp during World War II. She spoke five languages and upon her arrival acted as a translator for the government. All her life she was a tough survivor, from begging for food as a child, to surviving a War, to her battle with cancer. She beat the odds time and time again and faced each challenge heroically providing all of us with an example to live by. She was a wonderful, caring, compassionate wife, mother and nana. She will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. A private celebration of her life will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Moffit Cancer Center in her memory.
