Obituary of Robert Reed Kosid

KOSID, Rob, 46, passed away on June 30, 2011, in Lithia, Fla., following a two year battle with esophageal cancer. Rob was born in Greensburg, KY, on December 7, 1964, to Patricia Mudd Harris (formerly of Greensburg, KY) and Bob Kosid. He and his wife Michelle (formerly Michelle Dix of Campbellsville, KY) have been married for 19 years and have two children Sarah(16) and Cameron (10). Rob is a 1983 graduate of Taylor County High School and 1987 graduate of Centre College. Rob faithfully served his country for twenty years in the United States Marine Corps. He received many awards during his military career and is a two-time recipient of the Bronze Star with Combat Distinguishing Device for heroic actions during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his military career, Rob worked for Kforce Inc.,in Tampa, FL, a staffing and solutions firm where he was the Director of Program Management Office for the past four years. Additional survivors are mother and step-father, Patty and Steve Harris of North Augusta, SC; father and step-mother, Bob and Wendy Kosidof Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; sister Courtney Kosid of Lexington, KY; step-brothers, Brad and Peter Kosid of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, mother-in-law and father-in-law; Joyce and Wayne Scott of Campbellsville, KY, and a host of loving relatives and loyal friends. A memorial service to honor Rob’s life will be held in Lithia, FL, on July 8th, at 4:00 PM, at Grace Community United Methodist Church. In addition, a service will be held in Campbellsville, KY, on July 21st, at 5:00 PM at Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.
