I am one of many cousins of "Dee Dee" on the Bethke side. My mother was Selma Bloedow and father was Henry Bethke. Sisters married borthers. We enjoyed many family reunions. Her life sounds very familiar to mine; taking care of the sick and feeble, enjoying music as I graduated with a second major in music and first in elementary education. I am priviledge to have one of her ceramic vases that she gave me among other things just before she left to go to Florida. My prayers are for the family. She will me missed.

Mom was an exceptional, bright, talented lady. She taught us so many wonderful things. She took care of so many people throughout her life, nursing them when they were ill (including my dad who was bedridden for many years). She had a great sense of humor and allowed all of us to live our lives and pursue all of our dreams, without ever holding us back. She taught us how to appreciate the everyday beauty around us -- to care for everyone - she taught us that books were things to be treasured -- creativity of every kind was encouraged. I love all types of music because my mother always had her classical records playing when we would go to her home in Wisconsin. She loved marches and waltzes just as much and it wasn't unusual to have a marching song playing during lunch time. When I say creativity -- I mean that my mom could whip up some outstanding meals from nothing and we all couldn't wait to get to gramma DeDe's because when you were at her house, you ate like royalty. Mom loved children, animals, flowers, good food, traveling -- all the things that I love because of her. When the children spoke to mom, they had her full attention. They alwasy felt special. My children were so fortunate to have spent many summers at my mom and dad's in Wisconsin. There are SO MANY memories of so many outstanding times -- and all because of her. There were times when mom would sit back and say -- I have so many wonderful children and grandchildren - she would laugh and say, "And it was all because of me." And she was so right. We have the most outstanding family and it was all because of my mom and dad. I will miss you Mom -- and your sassy ways-- I love you SO MUCH. Love your daughter, Kathy

We met De De at Michelle and Mikes wedding, and she was fun, high spirited and truly a beautiful person inside and out. We feel honored to have met her and our prayers are with her most precious family. May Our Good Lord, Jesus Christ , with our Heavenly Mother, and our saintly family embrace her. We will miss her. Love Always, Rod and Debbie
