Obituary of Russell Ward Hitchcock

HITCHCOCK, Russell Ward “Russ”, 90, of Land O’ Lakes, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011. He was born in Shreve, Ohio on September 20, 1920 to Eiffel and Daryl Hitchcock. Russ was a graduate of Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve Law School. He served 33 years in the U.S. Air Force retiring as a Colonel. His services included WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Professor of Aero Science at Ohio State University. Russ was a Real Estate Attorney and owner of Southland Title, Tampa. His memberships included Florida Bar and American Bar Association and First Baptist Church of Land O’ Lakes. Russ is preceded in death by his wife, Evabelle and brother, Harold. He is survived by his wife, Marge; sister, Mary Lou Frost (Gene ); daughters, Betty Muterspaugh (Tom), Cheryl Labadie (Kevin), Patsy McCoy (Bobby), Nancy Willison (Leo) and Cathy Guagliardo (Sal); sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; other family and friends including his business partner, Eva Weathers. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Land O’ Lakes Tuesday June 7, 2011 at 10:00 am. A private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HPH Hospice at 12107 Majestic Blvd. Hudson, 34647. Russ was a truly caring man who lived to experience a full and exciting life, touching all of those he came in contact with. Family and friends will miss his positive outlook on life. Every day is a “Happy Day!”
