Obituary of Roy Lee Dumas
DUMAS, Roy L., 73, of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011. He was born in Tift County, GA and moved to Hillsborough County, Fla., from Berrian County, GA in 1960 and worked in the tire industry. In 1985 he founded the still family run business, Dumas Tires, that remains active in the Lutz community. He retired as Vice President in 2004. Roy is a member of the Land O’ Lakes Church of God. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen; daughter, Lesha Pfautz and her husband, Stan; two sons, Dewitt and his wife, Tracy and Russell and his wife, Patty; five grandchildren, Tasha and Ryan Lusher, April Dumas, Lauren Dumas, Eric and Katie Pfautz and Kathleen Jo Dumas all of Land O’ Lakes; brother, Carl Dumas; sister, Gladys and Art Paula; as well as several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Land O’ Lakes Church of God. Interment will follow at Lutz Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Land O’ Lakes Church of God.
