Obituary of Rolfe Benson

BENSON, Rolfe Paul, 70, of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., died unexpectedly Sunday, February 06, 2011. He was born in Waterbury, CT and moved to Fla., in 1963. Rolfe was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. After a career in water and waste instrumentation, he retired and pursued his passion for building and flying experimental aircraft. He is preceded in death by his father, Ralf. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; mother, Anita; brother, Joel and his wife, Judy of Wolcott, CT; sisters, Carol Machand and her husband, Armand of Wolcott, CT; Joan Henry and her husband, Gary of Bennington, VT and Claire Vastola and her husband, Chris of Wolcott, CT and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Loyless Funeral Home. Committal services will be at the Florida National Cemetery on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
