Obituary of Florence C. Dicks

DICKS, Florence C., 94, of Tampa, passed away January 27th at University Village Nursing Center. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Tampa from Ft. Lauderdale in 2005. Florence was Jewish by faith and followed the traditions of Judaism. She worked as a bookkeeper and in retail sales. Florence was passionate about raising money for schizophrenic and autistic children. She was extensively involved with the Workmen Circle, City of Hope and General Welfare League. She also enjoyed knitting baby caps for the Pediatric Department at University Community Hospital. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Lou Dicks, in 2000. She is survived by her son, Philip Dicks and his wife Meryl of Wanaque, NJ; daughter, Mindy and her husband Doug Federman of Tampa; three grandchildren, Rob and his wife Caroline, Scott and his wife Abby and Seth; three great grandchildren, Matthew, Emily and Ryan. Florence was also very fond of her devoted niece Lisa Schwarz and her family.
