Obituary of Walter V. Hansen

HANSEN, Walter V., Jr., 63, of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., passed away Friday, December 24, 2010. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Fla. as an infant. He was a United States Navy Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. Walter was a manager with GTE for 32 years and enjoyed fishing in the Gulf. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Norma; two sons, Walter and his wife, Sandee of Sarasota and Scott and his partner, Jeff of Tampa; brother, Richard and his wife, Becky; four sisters, Judy Wilson, Janice Reilly, Jeri DelValle and her husband, Robert and Joanne Wales and her husband, Jack; three grandchildren, Chiara, Giovanna and Dante. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Committal service with military honors will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Sarasota National Cemetery. Donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
