Dear Family of Auntie Lorraine, When I was little, Auntie Lorraine loved birds. She was especially proud to see a Cardinal or a red-breasted robin. These birds were seasonal and had to migrate. She appreciated how even in the freezing winter they worked so hard to build a nest and prepare for their family. When I see things that have a cardinal on them, I think of Lorraine. I hope all the birds in heaven are singing for her now. Special to Pam: you are a ray of sunshine!

Lorraine's smile will forever be etched in my memory. This is not goodbye, simply so-long until we meet again. To Pam and Kathy I will always remember how you shared your memories and your lives with all of us. Many pass through our doors, some are remembered more than others - Lorraine was one of those people.

Dear Lorraine, I always loved talking to you on the phone. So I took the coffee mug you had sent me with our pictures on it from when you visited me in California. I am going to have a cup of tea using the mug and am thinking of you. We both enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and had many laughs together. My heart aches that you have left us, but I know that you will be glad with Ma and our sisters in heaven. Part of me is thankful that your suffering has ended. God bless your wonderful family who loved and cared for you, Pam, Toni, Joe and Robert. All my love, your sister, Betty

I will always remember Aunt Lorraine's beautiful spirit and positive energy! She was such a ray of sunshine and no matter what was cheery and happy. I always loved when Aunt Lorraine would visit Dearborn when I was a kid. She would take the Greyhound bus from Grand Rapids and it was always so exciting when she was coming! I think everyone has a little to learn from this dear lady...that a positive attitude and smile can go a long way. I am certain she is with her sisters right now playing dominoes or maybe watching sinbad with nana :) We love her so much and she will live on forever!

Dear Lorraine, Thank you for giving the rest of the family the kindest and smartest daughter ever, Pamela, who carries on your tradition of valuing family the most. I know in my heart that you are in a better place, and it's my fondest wish that you will communicate as best you can through the stars, the wind, and birdsong to comfort Pam, Robert and Joe at this difficult time. Auntie you are perfect in heaven as you were on earth to us. Your memory is one of kind words, deeds, patience, beauty and hard work. God bless you for being better than the rest of us put together, so that in your memory we have something to aspire to. Please save me a seat next to you and the Lord. RIP, Kathy

Dear Pam and Family, Please accept my sincere condolences over the loss of your dear Lorraine. I am certain that she is pain-free and whole again now that she is home, and I am sure that she's making everyone on the other side smile. Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. ~Author Unknown

I love this picture of Aunt Lorraine. It is exactly how I remember her. And we always will remember her. She has always been an inspiration to the women in the family in particular. When it is easy to let life get you down and make you sour, Aunt Lorraine never did. The girls and I would often remark on what a tough gal she was. Kind of ironic because she was so petite (which I'm sure made all the other sisters jealous :-). Love and Hugs, Wade and Loralee
