"If Lillian is happy, I'm happy." Those are the words that Phil once said to my wife Pat and me. This is the kind of man that Phil was. A true family man with a heart of gold, and a love for his wife, family, friends and those men and women in the Armed Forces of the United States who came to him for care. I have so many fond memories of the husband of my sister, Lillian. And so now in this time of sadness, we can be happy that Phil is relieved of his suffering and pain and is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God bless you, Lillian, and your family and may he keep you in his loving care. Fritz

Phil Stutsman was always an amazing man, friend, physician, and educator. He contributed in so many ways to the clinical and teaching programs during his 37 years at the Haley Veterans Hospital. He was an icon in the resident conferences, administrative meetings, clinical care settings, and in Ambulatory Care Services management. He was always a friend, counselor, and reliable confidant. Persons of his caliber are extremely rare, and always treasured. We will all miss his smile and wry sense of humor enormously.

It was indeed an honor and privelege to be able to care for Dr. Stutsman in his final year. I thank you for allowing me into your home and your hearts. The love of this devoted family is so beautiful!. Though saddened with the loss of someone we loved so dearly, we must rejoice that he is now free of pain and basking in our heavenly Father's eternal peace. May God bless all of you during this difficult time with His love and His serenity!
