Obituary of Monroe McClendon
McCLENDON, Monroe, “Pops”, 81, of Land O' Lakes, Fla., passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010. He was born in Brooksville, Fla. Monroe was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean conflict. He was a retired landscaper and enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a member of the Church of God in Christ located in Dade City. He is survived by Ola Mae McClendon; five sons, Louis of Portland, Oregon, Michael, Ernest, Richard and John all of Land O' Lakes; two daughters, Lasharn and Dianne and her husband, John all of Land O' Lakes; brother, Lawrence and his wife, Ethel of Dade City; two sisters, Agnes Perkins and Laura Farmer both of Dade City; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. McClendon's life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
