Obituary of Harold Aich

AICH, Harold, 82, of Odessa and formerly of Holiday, Fla., passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010. He was born October 24, 1927 in Berlin, Germany to Irma & Herbert Aich, who were Americans living and doing business in Germany. Harold immigrated to Terre Haute, Indiana in 1948 after 3 years as a prisoner of war in WW II. He moved to Chicago, Illinois shortly afterwards. Harold worked in Chicago, Illinois as a chef, awning installer, and for the Upholsterers Union decorating convention / tradeshow arenas. He relocated to Florida. in the 1970’s, and worked for the city of New Port Richey, Fl. Harold enjoyed fishing on the Gulf, gardening, and volunteering for the Grayhound Pets of America. Harold was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Lisa Ostgren, and son, Stephen Harold Aich. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Rose Marie Hauslein, and her daughter, Donna Morales, and granddaughter, Leann. Harold is survived by his daughter, Ingrid Aich von Thaden and husband, David of Odessa, Fla.; stepchildren, Mary Schulze, and Thomas Hauslein and his wife Laura, all of Holiday, Fl; grandchildren, DeeDee, Melinda, Annie, Paul, Jennifer, Marissa, and Tommy. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, June 13, 2010, from 4:00pm – 6:30pm at the home of Ingrid & David von Thaden.
