Obituary of Exie J. Wieleba

WIELEBA, Exie “Joni”., 89, of Tampa, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010. She was born in Clarksville, GA and moved to FL in 1946, where she owned and operated The Handy Store in Palmaceia. Exie attended the University of Tampa and had worked as a secretary at NASA and the Armed Forces Exchange Services. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Palms in Palm Harbor and Dana Shores Women’s Club in Tampa. She enjoyed traveling, being outdoors and playing golf. She is preceded in death by her husband, Casimir, grandson, Brady Walsh and daughter in law, Lanette Roper. She is survived by her two sons, Michael Roper of Lawrenceville, GA and Danny Battagalia of New Port Richey, FL; daughter, Ouida Walsh and her husband, John “Bud” of Land O’ Lakes; grandchildren, Natalie and David Bamberry, Barry Walsh, Lee and James Glover, Kim and Jim Kurtz, Kelly Redwine and Kacilyn Battagalia and eight precious great grandchildren, as well as, other loving family members, Gary Roper and his wife, Laurie and Michelle Rice and her husband, Adam. Private services will be held at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Tampa.
