Obituary of Samuel F. Piazza

PIAZZA, Samuel F., “Pop, 88, of Tampa, Fla passed away Sunday March 14, 2010. Born in Meadville, PA, he moved to FL in 1970. Samuel served in the Coast Guard during WWII, Pacific Theatre and served aboard the Mackinaw on the Great Lakes. He was a member of Temple Terrace United Methodist Church. Sam was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. He is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Henderson Piazza. He is survived by; two sons, John and his wife, Ruth and George and his wife, Jill; three brothers; Joseph and his wife, Mary, George and his wife, Alda and Leon and his wife, Marty; two sisters, Kay Modras and Roseanne Picollo; three grandchildren, Luke and his wife, Stephanie; Catie Hunziker and her husband, Jason and Sam Piazza; great granddaughter, Ella Hunziker and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Jene Richardson for keeping love, adventure and a sparkle in Dad’s eye for the past 12 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Hillsborough County Special Olympics or John Knox Village. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 19th at Temple Terrace United Methodist Church. His final resting place will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
