Linda, Our deepest condolences to you and your entire family. We were so touched that a picture was included with Mitch, Don and John together at the card shop where they shared so many good laughs and talks together. We were so very saddened to hear of his sudden passing and he was such a wonderful friend to Mitch. Our prayers and support we extend to your family and thank you for sharing such a wonderful video tribute of a truly good person. We feel blessed to have known him.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my old friend John. We shared a mutual love of baseball and some of the finer things in life. We had a ball together in the 90's in the card business. I used to call him Johnny Podres after the great Dodger pitcher from the 50's. John was a sweetheart and a real stand up guy. Its been some years since we last saw each other but I can still remember his laugh and that sly grin like it was yesterday. My deepest condolences to Linda, Debbie and all John's family. Rest in Peace my brother..... Say hello to the Babe up there for me......... Stevie B.

John always had the best stories. He could talk for hours and just seemed to enjoy life so much. Holidays wont be the same without those stories and his company. I've spent more time around him in my adult life than I have my own brothers. Victor and I used to hang out with Linda and John and their crazy cats before we had kids and we'll always cherish those memories. Linda, we are here for you, please dont hesitate to reach out to us. We love you both.

I still love telling people about the hot wing incident in Chicago. You made my life a little better and I'll never forget you. Your friend, Rich

I'm totally shocked. I worked with John for 7 years at Westshore Glass, and he was one of the few people there that I was glad to see coming. Always upbeat. I went to a few HHS baseball games when I lived nearby to give a little support. My most sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I am writing to extend my deepest sympathies to you and your entire family. I was so very sad to hear about John, he seemed to be such a wonderful man. Albeit on an infrequent basis, I always enjoyed talking baseball with John around Thanksgiving - ever since I can remember, it put such a light in his eye. May his soul rest in peace. Please let me know whether there is anything I can do to help during this difficult time. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. ~Jason and Jennifer Salemi

John was the consumate Coach. He loved to help young people reach there potential in baseball, and in life. He was a strong proud independent man of principles, that lived by them which is rare. His life with Linda had been a full and happy one. His passing leaves this world a little smaller place for men like my brother John rarely come across our path in life. He worked and played hard, but was kind at heart. John spoke to me about death once and said, "when I'm gone one day don't feel too bad. I have lived a full life and done things many men wish they could do." He reached for the brass in life, and lived life to the full. He was much loved, and will be sorely missed.

I can remember back to the mid 80s and always being treated like a "little adult" rather than a kid by Uncle John. Whether it was decorating Victor's and Kelly's vehicle just before the wedding over by Lake Mag, or going to the old Tampa stadium for a monster truck rally, I felt like "one of the guys" when I young.
