Jeff and family. I was so sad the day Leann Hutto (my daughter) text me and told me about David. I couldn't believe what I was reading. What I will remember about David will be his wonderful personality and his smile. It was difficult going to Davids funeral but I wouldn't have wanted to be any where else. I want the Jennings family to know that they will remain in my thoughts and prayers. The Lord says in His word that in our days of trouble He will rescue us and we can give Him all the glory. We can trust in the Lord because His word is true. The Lord will keep His hands on your family and good family and friends will get you all thru. Jeff take care of yourself.

Dave was indeed a special person and a good friend. I feel lucky to have been one of the privileged people that could call Dave my friend. I wish I could have been there for him in his time of need. One thing that I know is that my friend is in a better place tonight. I will always remember Dave, and I will share stories of the superior athlete and person that he was. My thoughts and prayers are with the Jennings family. We all should learn from Dave's kindness and his willingness to help others so often. I don't think I will ever meet such a character as Dave again. He was truly a unique individual. He knew how to brighten up a room when he entered, and leave his mark when he left. We can all be so lucky to accomplish as much as Dave did during his short time here. Dave was one of the lucky ones who accomplished his duty here early, and was called home. God had a special plan for Dave. ...Until we meet again, my friend.

In reading the entries on this guestbook it is evident that David inspired many. Our family has a similar story, Dave was instrumental in our son Kenny's success as a kneeboarder. We traveled to Florida to get private lessons and found his expertise to be astounding and his personality enjoyable. It is so unfortunate that bad things have to happen to good people! May God grant him rest and console his loved ones and friends. Love the Matherne Family
